So my friday night has been super exciting, as always.
I went downtown with my younger brother for First Fridays, visited my friend Peggy Noland, and ate one too many fun size snickers.
Now, I am currently planted on my couch watching Grey’s Anatomy while sipping hot cider. Oh yeah, be jealous.
I feel like everyday my life gets a little sadder.
For example, my total excitement about New Moon.
Who else got their Vanity Fair with R. Patt on the cover?

And who can’t wait for the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar?
Seriously, I haven’t bought a Harper’s Bazaar since 2004, because frankly it really went downhill. But this editorial is enough for me to pony up and buy it.

And let me end this with a quote from my mother:
“I don’t know why you girls love that boy from Twilight so much. He looks dead even when he is not filming…and what was with the makeup in that movie? Even Angel looked better than that.”

This post is pretty much going to be ALL videos.
Here are some songs that I am currently in love with.
The Antlers – “Kettering”
After seeing them play in Brooklyn, I pretty much have been listening to them NONSTOP. They are amazing live. I regret passing them up so many times.
The xx – “Night Time”
They are good live. Although, I am not sure if it’s band I would want to see repeatedly. Once or twice is enough.
Jack Peñate – “Pull My Heart Away”
This is video is awesome. Mainly because it was shot on a super 8 camera.
Florence And The Machine – “The Drumming Song”
Her voice is incredible. So glad that Lungs is finally out in the US. I am so bummed I missed her play in New York, I always leave on the wrong days…
The Rakes – “We Danced Together”
Am I the only one a bit sad that they have parted ways? This is a slight oldie but goodie of their’s.
The Maccabees – “Boom Boom Pow (Black Eyed Peas Cover)”
I was reminded how cute this is on Catalina’s blog. So I had to post it. 1:28 Orlando trying not to laugh = the greatest/cutest.
And some throwbacks. I’m talking waaaay back to 2006-2007.
Goodbooks – “Passchendaele”
Another band I am sad to hear broke up this year.
Blood Red Shoes – “It’s Getting Boring By The Sea”
Saw them play in Brighton and it was pretty good show. One day they’ll play the US.
We Are Scientists – “Inaction”
Remember when With Love And Squalor was such a big deal? “Inaction” was definitely one of my favorites but “Callbacks” was the ultimate jam.

Happy Halloween kids!
Seeing how I am not doing anything tonight except handing out candy and watching horror movies, what is everyone’s plans for this evening? What are you dressing up as?
Screaming Lord Sutch - “She’s Fallen In Love With A Monster Man”

Lately, I’ve been buying a ridiculous amount of sweaters (thank you Fox & Fawn).
I think most of them make me look like I’m 12 but I love them nonetheless.
I really want to have a cute sweater party this winter.
Although, I really think this party will only consist of myself and my dog sitting on the couch watching Bridget Jone’s Diary or Love Actually while I eat an incredible amount of cookies and/or cupcakes. Oh heyyy dentures*, sup?
*I am assuming that due to the amount of sweets I consume, my teeth will fall out and I’ll have to wear dentures by the age of let’s say 25…
Hello, I’m reporting from sickville (aka my germ infested room, aka hell) I realised I haven’t really updated this thing with some fascinating news.
Well, nothing really fascinating to update with. Yes, I was just in NYC and yes I could cook up some neat stories, but due to being sick (and slightly lazy) I’ll have to save those stories for later.
Real talk, though. Having this for breakfast again, looks significantly better than the coffee and bagel I am trying to consume now.

Roebling Tea Room, come back to me.
Oh, you can look at pretty pictures that I like and inspire me on my tumblr.

Follow all the craziness of NYC on Twitter
Alright, this is a new level of bordem, I am blogging from my phone while waiting at the airport.
Functioning on zero sleep, I arrived at the airport at 4:30am after a hellish ride with a taxi driver that hated NYC and loved his farm to find out that my 6am flight had been delayed by an hour. Awesomeness.
And since the Kansas City airport is super classy and doesn’t have anything open until 5 or later. I sat outside of the Starbucks like the coffee crack hoe I am until the opened.
Now, I am currently on my second (of many to come) cup of coffee, listening to my iPod, as I sit here tapping my foot nervously while I dream of taking a sleeping pill and drifting to sleep on the plane.
Let the misadventures begin.

Tonight is the fourth consecutive night I have intended to go out (either for a party or show) but decided to stay in last minute.
Lately, I’ve been so focused on my portfolio, transfer schools, moving again and finding a new place of work, that I haven’t really wanted to go out for anything except to the grocery store and coffee shop.
To breakup the seriousness of life lately, I’ve been reading a lot and watching a lot of movies.
I recently watched Goodbye Lenin (I know, about time!)

I really enjoyed it and Daniel Brühl is completely endearing. Plus, the soundtrack is by Yann Tiersen which added to the loveliness of the film.
And onto books, I am halfway through Reheated Cabbage by Irvine Welsh. The short stories are wildly entertaining. They are the kind of stories you should refrain from reading out in public because you’ll end up being that weird girl in the corner of the coffee shop with her headphones on, laughing out loud randomly. Not that was ever me or anything…

The blog is open again, in case you missed it (which I doubt.)
So, I am sure you are sitting at your computer wondering “what’s the haps with Patrice these days.”
Welllllllllllll…not a whole lot.
I quit the bux recently, working on my portfolio that is sucking the life out of me, long hours in the darkroom (chemical brain invasion), and papers to write.
And can anyone tell me why presentation books are so freaking expensive. I know my portfolio should look super classy and all but seriously. For the price I paying for my presentation book for my photographs, I really hope that it comes with the Chanel logo etched in or somethinggggg.
Anyways, next Friday I’ll be in NYC. I’m strangely getting pretty freaking excited about it. While I am there, two albums I am super stoked about their releases will be coming out:
Old Lights Every Night Begins The Same
Florence And the Machine Lungs
The lovely Abby and I will be venturing to the record store that day (October 20th) to make sure we get our hands on these and you should do the same.

Because I totally need another site to keep up with, I decided to set up a tumblr. An inspiration photo blog, I suppose.
Anyways, it’s here.
Uhhh, I guess I could update about what’s going on over here. Nothing too interesting…work, school, work, school, work, sleep, work…
I’ve kind of given up on unpacking. We’ve been in the new house for a couple months now and everytime I’ve tried to unpack, something more interesting happens, like Briget Jones Diary being on TV, really anything with Colin Firth in it is worthy of me dropping everything I am doing and vegging in front of the television. I think there may be two other people I know that share my love for Colin Firth. I am looking at you Catalina and Natalie.
Anyways, by the time I FINALLY unpack, it’ll be time to move again. So really, I am just ahead of the game.
Oh, some of my photographs were in the UK magazine FAULT, this past summer issue and will possibly be in the winter issue as well.

Lastly, Matt and I did the cover art for the Old Lights album. I am really excited for the end results. Here is a tiny view of it.

Looking through Copenhagen Style I noticed this girl named Alice. She’s 15…

When I was 15, I am pretty sure I was still sporting my Backstreet Boys shirt and wearing sketchers.
